SUMMARY
I had no idea that hair could mean so much. In The 1400-1899 African Americans living in Africa valued their hair very much, it was part of their language you can tell a persons mood or wealth. There are many types of African hair, for example kinky curls, loosely curls, and flowing locks. There many different tribes of Africans but, one thing they have in common is the social and cultural significance intrinsic to each strand of hair. In the the African community the hair dresser is considered the most trustworthy, people trust them with their hair and problems. At a young age all girls learn to Brade but only the girl that shows a true talent becomes a hair dresser. hair had a big impact on the lives of Africans Americans.
QUOTATION
"A woman with long, thick hair demonstrates the life-force, the multiplying power of profusion, prosperity, a' green thumb for raising bountiful farms and many healthy children" (Boone 4).
REACTION
When I read this sentence I found it so interesting that so much things can be said about a woman's hair. A other thing I found interesting is how a woman stops doing her hair when her husband dies, and also a young girl shave her head to show she is pure.
