Reaction
I thought the film did a good good of capturing what the book was about. I don't normally like film about war but I really enjoyed Cold Mountain. I love the love story between Inman and Ada, even thought many events in the story foreshadows Inman's death the movie gave me hope that it was going to have a happy ending, the ending that I wanted to happened.

Cold Mountain 143-353
SUMMARY
Inman is no longer on his Journey alone. He is now traveling with Veasey, along the way they stopped and helped a men name Junior get a bull out of a creek. To thank them Junior invites them to dinner. Inman goes to his house and meant his family then the man's wife Lila tried to seduce Inman. Junior walked in with a gun. Latter Inman and Veasey got arrested and was mixed up with all the other criminals. When Inman was in jail I could not help but think that the situation he was in was similar to the begging of the story where he was around wounded people and dead people. Inman ended up escaping out of jail with the help of a slave. Inman went back to Junior's house to get his haversack, while he was there he killed Junior and continued on his way. Inman's journey was a long and bitter one every places he goes one bad thing after the other happens to him. but at the end of his journey he ends up with his true love Ada, they now live together in a village. Inman does not want to return to the army. Ada , Inman, and Stanford went on their last journey together. In which Inman ends up getting shot. Inman dies and Ada has to move on with her life, and she found peace with her life.
QUOTATION
"He had grown so used to seeing death, walking among the dead, sleeping among them . . . that it seemed no longer dark and mysterious" (Frazier 180).
REACTION
After being around death for most of his life, Inman is now use to it. It no longer affect him. It has become normal to him, it is now a part of his life.
The ending of the story was sad it was not what i predicted. I thought that Ada and Inman would live together happily ever after.

Cold Mountain by: Charles Frazier page 62-142
SUMMARY
So far in the book Inman is still traveling. He was walking along a river bank one night when he was some thing it was a man. He noticed that the men had a white bundle with him, the man was about to throw it down the river. The man was a preacher so when he saw Inman he message from god. Inman thought there was something wrong with the guy. It turned out that the man got a girl pregnant, drudged her and was about to throw her down the river. But Inman stopped it he pulled a gun on the man and made him bring him into town. when they got there Inman took the girl home and he tied the girl to a tree. he wrote a note of the man's actions and placed it above his head for everyone to see.
in addition, Ada and Ruby are working on a garden together. Ada does not have alot of money so she had to sell her piano in order to survive the winter. While at home one day a group of Pilgrims came to stay with them because their house burned down. But they did not stay for long.
QUOTATION
"I've saved more souls than there are fingers to your hands and toes to your feet. But I've foresworn it now and I'm going to the Texes and stat fresh"(Frazier 118).
REACTION
when I read this quote that everyone makes mistakes and were all human no matter what you do for a living I just think that he could of handled the situation better then he did.I was wondering what made the preacher do what he did and change his life like that. I guess it shows
